Delft Blue Vintage Sailboat wax and wire pendant

Do you wish you were sailing away? Let your maritime wishes be known with this lovely sailboat.
Industrial strength wire was bent into a square with a modern touch to fit around the sailboat. A napkin with Dutch scenes often found on Dutch pottery was dipped in beeswax and then adhered to the wire with blue encaustic paint for a lovely whimsical effect.

This lightweight pendant measures 2 1/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inch wide and comes with a black satin cord. Please specify the length based on the additional information page.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
