I’ve had some requests for Safety Pin-related jewelry, so I created a few pieces.
After making rainbow pieces I had a few rainbow scraps left over so I pinned one to a safety pin. Then I wrapped the pin into steel wire to make a pendant. This sculptural piece measures 1 3/4 inches long by 2 inches wide and 3/4 inch deep. The pendant comes with a black satin cord, pictured is a 16″ cord.
Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
