Dickensian Steel Wire Infinity Pendant

Do you love Charles Dickens? This pendant has a page that discusses David Copperfield and Dickens’ writing skills. I wrangled steel wire into an infinity shape while chatting with a friend, and then cut out a page from the David Copperfield introduction to adhere to the steel form. The paper was dipped in encaustic medium and then adhered to the steel wire with a quilting iron.

The pendant measures 3 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide and comes with a black satin cord.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
