Fun in Spring Grove

It wasn’t quite Spring in Spring Grove yet when I made the trek up last month, but the Affair of the Arts Spring Show is always fun to be at. My stakes had been a hit at the Handmade Market, so I brought them along for this fair as well. Of course that meant foregoing coffee, which was tough the day of Daylight Savings Time.

The quiet drive had me pondering seasons and farm life with frost layering the corn fields. Soon I arrived and it was time to set up my booth.

We nibbled on the artist brought snacks as we waited for the first customers to arrive.

Soon there was a steady flow of people who perused both the upstairs and the downstairs.

I met new vendors and saw some from years prior. With the configuration changing each year, it is fun to see how the lodge is transformed every time.

Having Mimosas and other libations served is always a perk.

I was happy to see some pieces adopted.

Applications for the November fair are now open, so reserve your spot!

Organizers Joe and Kathleen have a variety of calls for art up throughout the year, so check back on their website for more information. You can now find my stakes at the Evanston Pop Up Gallery and at Green Edens in Evanston, as well as at Sacred Art Chicago.
