Usually when I drop off art it gets hung by other people, but this time help was needed, and I pitched in.
It was fun to get a sneak peek at the show and learn about the Walker hanging system.
FUSEDChicago is an organization of Midwest artists who share an interest in encaustic, a method of making art using pigmented wax fused to a surface by heat. Our mission is to advance public awareness of encaustic art through workshops and thematic exhibitions of member work, and to create professional opportunities for networking and learning exchanges for our members.
The mission of North Shore Senior Center is to foster the independence and well-being of older adults, enhance their dignity and self-respect, and promote their participation in and contribution toward all aspects of community life.
The FUSED Visions show is up through December 15, 2016. The center has exhibited work from many Chicago art groups including Women’s Caucus for Art, Senior Artist Network, Chicago Society of Artists, and the Wilmette and Glenview Art Leagues. The center is open weekdays between 9:30 and 3:30.
We hope you can join us to peruse the dimension and textures of these lovely works that reflect a variety of techniques and personalities.
