Hello May!
I am preparing for three fairs this month. The Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce Mother’s Day Art Fair is on Wednesday, May 9 from 4 to 8 pm in the evening. I am super excited to return to this place, and hope that this year we won’t have a rain storm during the event. It is indoors, so we still had many wonderful people brave the weather for their mother’s Day Gift Shopping.
On Friday I met with Dietrich Horsey of D21, a fitness studio on Main Street. I will set up in this space for the Main-Dempster Mile Sauce Walk. This Neighborhood Art & Dessert Crawl in Evanston will benefit the Main-Dempster Mile Public Art Fund.
Our logistics meeting turned into a wonderful photoshoot combining a sampling of my pieces with the equipment D21 has to offer. I am looking forward to the results of this shoot.
My friends at Dietrich21/D21 will be serving a dessert bite and beverage for you to enjoy while you browse. I hope you’ll buy a ticket (only $16 online, gets you entrance to almost 40 other galleries besides mine) and stop by to see me on May 17 from 5:30 to 8 pm.
The next evening I will pop up at Creative Coworking’s Art & Wine Night, held from 5 pm to 8 pm. I will set up in a conference room near the kitchen, where you can get the beverage of your choice. Up front, artists Itala & James Merriner will display their art work, and you can peruse over local artists on all three floors of the 922 Davis Street location in Evanston.
Spring is finally here, and I am loving the sunshine, the tulips emerging, and the birds chirping up a storm. It was King’s Day in the Netherlands this weekend, so the tulips have me cheering for my fatherland.
You’ll see more details of the upcoming events next week and beyond. I hope you can come to one of the art fairs, and look forward to showcasing the newbies I am about to create this week in my studio. Meanwhile, soak up the sun and enjoy the weather wherever you are!
