It’s been a few months since I replenished earrings, and made a few more for this coming weekend. I will be popping up at the Ravenswood ArtWalk on September 14-15, 2024, from 11am to 6pm. It feels good to have creative brain space again after a long hiatus, and bending the wire was easier than expected. Muscle memory is real.
The fingerprint coil earrings were all gone, so I made some newbies of those, as well as my double springy spirals that never turn out symmetrical. I have more ideas than I have time, but my inventory should suffice for this one fall fest.
My last Ravenswood pop up was in 2019. A full-time job and caregiving prevented me from returning for a few years, but when I went to a networking event in May I was told there were still spots left, so I opted for a space at Platform Coworking. I will be indoors because the first 2 outdoor years spelled disaster weather-wise, so you can find me at Platform Coworking at 4422 N. Ravenswood in Chicago on Saturday and Sunday.
The 22nd annual “Tour of Arts & Industry” celebrates the creative hub and community of Ravenswood along the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor. The Ravenswood ArtWalk (RAW) Tour of Arts and Industry is a weekend-long celebration of our local creative community. Stretching from Lawrence south to Irving Park along Ravenswood Ave, RAW features: open studios and galleries, pop-up performances and activations, as well as an outdoor arts market featuring 60+ local makers, two stages of live music, a pop-up beer garden, kids activities, and food trucks.
Platform Coworking is on the West side of the tracks with some other spots to peruse. I was at Platform Coworking for my third Art Walk, so to return to an expanded place is exciting. Platform Coworking Ravenswood is just a short walk from the Montrose Brown Line and Ravenswood Metra. They have recently expanded, so the space now features flexible seating, private offices, two conference rooms, ten phone booths, two kitchens, two lounges, and a cool outdoor patio. Enjoy fast Wi-Fi, comfy desks, and all the coffee and tea you can drink.
The Ravenswood ArtWalk is proudly presented by the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce, Ravenswood Community Council, SSA #31, Thresholds, Lillstreet Art Center, Garrett Realty, and Luckyprints. Check out the RAW Directory and Map for other stops.
I will be at the front entrance of the venue, so you won’t miss me. Of course I will bring all my wares: the pendants that started this creative venture, earrings, bracelets, necklace collars, keychains, and my ornaments. I have a fun RAW URL here.
Check out the event on Facebook. I look forward to seeing you there! My next pop-up shows will be in November to kickstart your holiday shopping, but you can find my Shelfie at Artem Pop Up Gallery in Evanston year-round.
