Pearly Swirly Pendant Set

My favorite movie is Funny Face, where we are encouraged to Think Pink! Give your inner Audrey that same message with this lovely Swirly Pearl Set. I had a strand of faux pearls that called to me for a jewelry set.

I wrapped 16-gauge steel wire into a round shape with swirls to insert the pearls into. Then I added burgundy tissue paper dipped in encaustic medium to give the pendant some pop. This dimensional pendant measures 2 1/4 inches long by 1 3/4 wide. I strung the pink pearls onto coated copper wire for a whimsical pair of matching earrings.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
