Rainbow Peace Pendant

Honor your favorite pacifist with this peace pendant.

I hand-drew the rainbow and purple peace symbol on artisan paper, and then dipped it in encaustic medium. This beeswax and resin mixture was then used to fuse the paper to the steel wire circle shape. May peace unfurl!

This pendant measures 2 1/4 long by 1 3/4 inches wide and comes with a black satin cord.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word “burn in” and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits.
