Valentine Hearts Angel

Will this angel be your Valentine? I had some tissue paper with the sweet read hearts in my stash so I wire-wrapped an angel with a spiraled heart. Then I dipped the tissue paper in a beeswax and resin mixture and adhered it to the steel wire. This angel comes with a red satin ribbon for hanging. It measures 3 1/2 inches tall by 4 3/4 inches wide and  1/2 inch deep.

Encaustics should be cared for as you would for any fine art piece. Encaustic derives from the word ‘burn in’ and is a process of applying molten wax colors to a surface for the creation of images or decoration that began more than 2 millennia ago with Roman Egyptian wax portraits. Hanging the ornament in the window may cause fading over time.
