“If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are, if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time.”
~ Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth
So the message from the Universe during the Creative Connection Event, through a Crain’s video contest, various podcasts and other sources, is to start following my bliss now.
But how do I trust that the universe’s abundance will be there?
Suze Weinberg’s motto is “Leap, and the net will appear.” She wrote that in my Where Women Create book 3 years ago. But I haven’t leapt yet.
I know that I am meant to pursue a path of creativity, and I am ready to take on all the business tasks that come in addition to just the joy of creating. But getting to that point of making this a full-time job requires some faith I don’t quite have yet. For me, this journey isn’t about one giant leap. I’m a tad too risk averse for that.
Instead, I am going to follow my bliss gradually, and see where each step takes me. This does involve taking flying lessons, just in case.
Maybe I’ll gently stairstep toward a ledge as I get my wings ready, and then I can jump–and soar.
Put a little bliss in your life every day, so that your track becomes clear to you as well. One step at a time is all it takes.
